Greg Blue is a 30+ year veteran commercial photographer working out of Vancouver. He works primarily with large scale advertising accounts, but also regularly shoots product and portraiture work. His imagery has won numerous national and international awards, such as the Lotus & Applied Arts Magazine Awards in Canada, The One Show Awards in New York and The Cannes Lion Awards in France – not to mention 2017 PPOC Commercial POY! In addition to the PPOC, Greg is a member of, and Past National President of CAPIC.
Greg is also a veteran instructor and has taught commercial photography at Langara College for over 20-years. He speaks regularly on the topic of studio and location lighting, and has a very deep understanding of lighting theory. While Photoshop plays a regular and critical role in Greg’s work, he prefers Photoshop to remain invisible in his imagery, and does not use the program to shape his lighting. Greg’s philosophy toward manipulating light is “Use physics first – if that doesn’t work, use modifiers, and if that doesn’t work, use Photoshop.” Although he admits 90% of his images use all three strategies…
