Joan Terry


During the course of her career, Joan has taught the art of visual conceptualization as applied to photography and design to over 2000 students, drawing on her extensive experience combining visual communications and marketing for business and industry. She has 20+ years teaching and educational management in the visual arts. Joan has critiqued hundreds of photographic portfolios and has a proven ability to inspire others—her best talents are creative ideation and concept development.

Joan’s career in visual arts began at University of Wisconsin, Madison with a B.S. in Art, followed by a graduate assistantship in the Graphics Studio at Indiana University, Bloomington, where she received a Masters Degree in Instructional Systems Technology.

Joan has worked creatively in print, video, multi-image and digital design. She maintains her own communications design firm and has won awards for excellence in advertising and design.
