Still Life Mastery: Phase One Medium Format Hands-On Experience

Gerald Freyer

Attention photographers, educators, and advanced enthusiasts! This workshop is a MUST for anyone who’s ever dreamed of working with a high-end digital medium or large format camera such as Phase One, Hasselblad, or Fujifilm GFX. You’ll get to personally shoot with a Phase One camera in this hands-on workshop, and experience for yourself what makes these cameras superior: from sensor size, dynamic range, and incredible detail resolution, to an improved workflow and creative potential.

This workshop will allow you to explore new niches in the age of AI; while AI thrives on speed, scale, and quantity, classical photographic knowledge thrives on depth, specialization, and intentional limitation. Photographers who understand large-format systems, optical geometry, and historical processes have a future offering what is not mass-producible, such as museum-grade reproduction, archival scanning and preservation, historically-responsible restoration, and fine-art printing with optical integrity. This is not mainstream photography, but it is exactly where expertise will continue to define value in the future.

Whether you’re a studio, landscape, fine art, or cultural heritage photographer, you’ll benefit from learning new creative and technical applications. Participants are encouraged to bring their own camera for real-time comparison, while testing high-end equipment under expert guidance. This is a small-group workshop with limited seats available, so make sure to sign up before they sell out!
